The solution to a variety of database problems is hiding in SQL Server's transaction log
The solution to a variety of database problems is hiding in SQL Server's
transaction log. We say "hiding" because the transaction log is an undocumented
binary file. Log Explorer is the first and only product able to use the log
information to selectively recover data, analyze user and application problems,
and audit activity; all without run-time overhead.
SSW are the only authorised resellers for Lumigent in Australia and New

How it works
Log Explorer helps to pinpoint errant user or application behaviour by
analyzing the native SQL Server logs to provide a complete history of all
changes made to the database. Powerful filters help narrow the focus of
problem-solving activity by selecting database changes based on time ranges,
application or user id, or specific tables or rows in the database. Problems
that once required hours or even days of debugging and monitoring can often be
resolved in minutes.
Log Explorer uses the database transaction log to help to resolve Microsoft SQL
Server database problems including:
-
Analyze performance and throughput
-
Solve "whodunnit" problems
-
Monitor database changes in real time
-
See how rows change over time
-
Export log data for reports and analysis
-
Back out changes selectively without reloading full backs up
-
Recover dropped or truncated tables.
System Requirements
The server component may reside on any system running SQL Server 7.0 or 2000
(Intel-compatible CPU). The minimum machine configuration for the server
component is the same as that for SQL Server. The client component may
co-reside with the Server component or may reside on a separate, networked
machine running Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, or
Windows XP.
What does the unregistered version give me?
The evaluation version of Log Explorer allows you to trial Log Explorer against
the Northwind Database and expires after 30 days. If you've done the tutorial
and would like to test it on your own SQL Servers please call on 02 9953 3000
